Balvinder Kumar, Principal Lawyer at BK Law Professional Corporation, practicing since 2007 in Real Estate Residential and Commercial Law, Wills and Estates, and Family Law. She is a Mediator, Writer, and Mentor and holds a Designation of Chartered Community Mediator, at the Ontario Community Mediation Coalition.
Balvinder is a freelance writer and provides writing and editorial services with the Real Estate Module of Practical Guidance Canada, LexisNexis Canada. She is a Panel Lawyer with LawY where she reviews, advises, and verifies AI-generated legal answers within the LawY platform in the areas of real property law, mortgages, leasing, and wills and estate. She is also associated as an Assessor for Real Estate, Law Practice Program, with the Toronto Metropolitan University.
Balvinder strives to give back to the professional legal community in different ways. She engages herself in mentoring new lawyers and paralegals through her association with the Coach and Advisor Network at the LSO. She tutors candidates for Real Estate Law for the licensing examination conducted by the LSO. She serves as an executive member of the Real Property Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association.
Balvinder is the Founder of Help to Serve and partners with women’s shelter homes, not-for-profit organizations, outreach centers, and schools in the Peel-Halton region, to serve women and children, providing them necessities, working with children of low-income family groups in schools providing them with required school supplies and reading books. In her free time, Balvinder volunteers within the community. She uses her mediation and dispute resolution training and experience as a Community Mediator to mediate disputes between neighbors relating to property lines, surveys, and fences and conducts individual conflict coaching sessions. She is on the roaster of Conflict Resolution Service at Dixie Bloor Neighborhood Centre, Mississauga.
